The Journey... So far!

Becoming a full-time singer and recording artist has been an incredibly exciting journey for Dayton so far, with the release of his beautiful debut single 'I See You' receiving airplay on FM radio stations, as well as being showcased on 2 music channels. This song helped with raising much needed awareness and funds for Fibromyalgia Action UK.

Although he was a shy child, Dayton hails from a musical family, and was himself passionate about music. In his early years, he played drums in Church along with bass and acoustic guitar. He was also classically trained in piano.

But more than anything... he loved to sing.

Lacking in confidence, his voice was a gift he kept hidden from the world until he was a 32 year old office worker!
After finding the courage to perform at his first showcase as part of a duo named 'Domino',  Dayton's popularity, reputation (and confidence!) grew exponentially.
With the demand for his authentic and polished 'Tribute To The Legends of Soul & Motown' solo show, he has been blessed to perform in some beautiful venues both in the UK and Internationally.

Alongside this established show, in 2016 Dayton added a new show, 'For The Love Of Luther' - a beautiful homage to the globally acclaimed and well loved Soul and RnB singer, Luther Vandross.
This became a very popular choice for corporate events and ticketed shows, and is a something that Dayton loves to perform.

A natural progression from this arrived in 2017.  Dayton debuted 'Old Skool Flava' - classic 80's & 90's RnB show at Viva Showbar in Blackpool, and was an instant hit! It continues to be one of his most requested genres at both ticketed events and weddings.

The same year Dayton was chosen to support Ray Lewis, former lead singer of Motown group The Drifters with his band
'Still Drifting', at a beautiful venue in Hampshire.
It was a huge success, and Ray has since asked Dayton to share the stage with him on several occasions, both as a backing singer
and being trusted with lead vocals. Dayton considers performing with one of his musical inspirations to be
the highlight of his career so far!

In 2018, Dayton was approached to be a contestant on a primetime Saturday night BBC1 singing show, 'All Together Now'.
This was hosted by Rob Beckett, with the head judge being none other than Geri Halliwell of Spice Girls.
But after the production team met Dayton, learned of his musical journey and heard his voice... they instead asked him to join the
industry expert judging panel on the show! This was a great experience for Dayton.
The celebrity episode of All Together Now was aired on Christmas eve 2018, followed by the main show in 2019 - and it was very well received. It became the fastest growing TV show of 2019 - being franchised in 14 countries!

As we all know, along with other industries, the pandemic hit the entertainment world particularly hard.
Entertainers were unable to make a living through music and other arts. But Dayton is used this time to be productive!
He was approached to take part in 2 Primetime TV Shows.
The 1st was 'I Can see Your Voice'.  A fun, family friendly game show that aired on Saturday nights on BBC 1. Paddy McGuiness hosted and the panel was made up of Alison Hammond, Jimmy Carr and Amanda Holden.  A 4th celebrity singer joined the panel each week. Dayton appeared on episode 3 and thoroughly enjoyed the experience, receiving incredible feedback from both the panel
and the viewers at home.
The 2nd show was 'Starstruck' - ITV's fresh take on an old favourite 'Stars in Their Eyes'.
This took place on the largest TV performance stage in the UK and was hosted by Olly Murs. The amazing judging panel was made up of; Beverley Knight, Adam Lambert, Sheridan Smith - and the incredibly funny Jason Manford!
Following Dayton's group performance of Let's Get It On by Marvin Gaye, he said 'That wasn't music... that was like a massage!
I feel like my ears have been on a spa weekend!
Dayton enjoyed every moment, and had amazing response from the general public.

On 16th November 2021, Dayton released an original track, a collaboration with writer and producer Alex Lloyd.
A smooth, soul track with a nostalgic Philadelphia Soul influence, 'He Won't Love You Like I Do' went straight to number 1 in both the
Amazon 'Best Selling New Release Chart' and 'RnB Chart'!
It is still available to download from all major music platforms.
Their 2nd offering is called 'Love Is On The Line', was released on January 7th 2022, achieving the same success. It became very popular with lovers of the Philadelphia Soul Sound, and collectors called for it to be released on Vinyl.
The limited edition's sold out almost immediately, but the standard version is still available via this link:

As well as filming for 2 TV shows, creating and rehearsed a new show. In February 2022, he debuted
‘Ocean Devotion’ - a tribute to the musical legend that is Billy Ocean. This show has fast become a firm favourite, with bookings taking us into 2024!

Along with adding this new solo show his offerings, Dayton was asked to take the role of male lead in a theatre show
 'The Endless Love Show'.
This also debuted in February 2022, and showcases the nostalgic songs of Lionel Ritchie and Diana Ross.
Some of the team behind this new show were also involved with the ever-popular 'Magic of Motown' theatre show,
and with the response to the show so far... they are expecting Endless Love to be just as successful!
